I've  has a sore elbow for a few weeks now and had a lesson today.
Pro said my left arm was folding in the back swing and may have some caused the issue.

Does anyone know if graphite shafts are less harsh on the joint ?

In the meanwhile just ordred a tennis elbow support off amazon  :cry

Stan I got one of those pensioner arm bands but never felt it done anything for me :(

The cause of mine was shitty technique. I was casting early in the downswing and the elbow tendon was taking the brunt of the impact while it was bent forward as it should have been after impact.
Went for the lesson and i'm trying to remember to hold of for a later release and its not as sore.

I'm not a fan of supports or braces either, I found that mines was caused by 2 things. Lifting my golf bag up onto my shoulder repeatedly (had played 4 rounds in 2 days when mine flared up) and snapping my arms straight at impact and jarring the elbow joint. Started using a trolly instead of carrying the clubs and sorted outthe technique and haven't had a problem with the elbow since.

i had thought of tennis elbow but mine is on the inside of the elbow not the outside.

Many years ago I had a similar problem diagnosed as 'golfers elbow'.  The doctor described golfers elbow as being similar to tennis elbow but on the inside of the joint rather than the outside.

The cure he suggested was boring old rest.  I just took loads of painkillers and tried to ignore it and it went away in the end, but it took a while.

I have these pains as well - but have been told by the wife they are caused by old age or playing to much golf

Cure - more gardening or decorating
Golf - It's a stupid game - and I would give up if I was not married

Having watched the video nasty, I concurred it was my swing.
Now for the change.

Much like Stus, more upright and not so long.

Remember about 2 years ago I too was doing the 'wall' drill.

Just reverted back to a very flat, long swing.

Was just thinking if graphite were 'softer' on the joint, for the long term ?
