Back of left hand
« on: Mar 22, 2010, 15:48:40 »
Got some pain in the back of my left hand, is this a common golf injury? Really noticing it at the range today and yesterday, thinking it might be hitting the range mats too hard.

I thought that by stipulating clearly it was my LEFT hand, and the BACK of my hand I would avoid these responses, but clearly we have some very imaginative Master Debaters on the forum.

Are you gripping too tight? (in either sense )

I only realise I'm doing it when the back of my left hand gets sore

Could be, I'm working on a new, or slightly altered grip, so I could be emphasizing it too much.

I try to hit fifty balls every day now.

I'm thinking it's the fats doing it, but Jim might be right.

Potentially.

It's quite common and if you've been hitting a shiteload of balls on the back of not playing much for ages...

Rest is wise if you have pain of any sort, but I have had heaps of mates injure a wrist beating balls all day and then ignore it, and it only ever gets worse.

Be safe and get it looked at now.
