Another golden oldie review ::laugh: but I'm still using this driver after 2.5 years so it must still work. The Ping G2 is the first of the Ping G Series drivers - we've since had the G5 and G10 together with the composite Rapture.I've tried all of the newcomers and cannot find a compelling reason to upgrade. I think this is mainly down to the shaft - the Aldila NV65S seems to suit me, for whatever reason and it's kept my lomg game in better shape than any other offering I've tried so far. The new G10 is definitely a good driver but they've dropped the NVs and VS Protos as a standard option and I'm not as keen on the alternatives.Anyway, the G2 is every bit as long as any other 460cc driver I've hit. It's hugely forgiving and inspires confidence at address. It looks substantial but not like a brick on a stick. Now, the crescent moon 'hologram' on the crown may not be to everyone's taste but I can't say that it has ever bothered me.I like the sound - it's solid but doesn't scare people three counties away, which is nice I can't think of anything else to say other than after 2.5 years of playing a G2/NV combo in 8.5*, I've finally replaced it. With a G2/NV combo in 10* - I'm interested to see if that 1.5* does really help at all with the forgiveness.I cannot say enough good things about this driver and have to vote as follows:
