What did the swingweights come out like on these please. I also play my clubs +1 and historically the real benefit of Pings is the set turns up at D2 with them using lighter heads whilst Callaway uses one head weight and they turn up at D8+.

The KBS should help a bit on your set

Nice review thanks. I saw them in a shop recently and the topline was no where near as thick as they looked in the pics you posted when oyu got them. Too much iron for me but good looking for sure.

Mine are at D7 irons and D8 wedges. If I were playing something other than kbs tours, it would have been a problem for me. It doesnt appear to be at the moment though. It it did become a problem, I'd probably take a bit of weight off the heads.

I agree about the pings though, one of the reasons why I used them for the past couple of years

Ben

Good review and pics...it does seem a shame Callaway cannot do the different weighted heads for us "vertically blessed" players!!

Looking at the specs on the respective sites I was surprised to see the lengths came out the same as a Ping 5 iron seems to be shorter by 1/4" than a Cally...I have this issue with a set of Cally's vs Pings and am getting the Cally's trimmed.
I have always been paranoid over excessive swingweight but am coming to the conclusion I maybe wrong to be so having had less success with irons closer to "standard" than historically too heavy ones...
Of the Pings my costly experiment with the s56's has finally bitten the dust...I ended up changing the shafts several times and could hit/play the final set-up but they just didn't feel as nice as a forged head.
Looking at your bag signature I see you are sticking with the FT Tour...have to say the Razr Hawk is a definite improvement in ease of use
WITB
Callaway Razr Hawk Tour 8.5 Oban Devotion 6 S flex
Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 15 Grafalloy Prolaunch Red S flex
Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 18 (shafted with same shaft as 3 wood!)
Hybrids Sonartec HB001 19,21,23 Matrix 8h S flex
Loads of Vokey and Mizuno wedges!!..and lots of putters!!
Wedges now going to +3/4", 2 degree flat.
Putters in general 36" normal lie and mid size or thickened grip and some with Balance Certified weights added...

David,

I got callaway to match up the lengths for me :)

FT tour is great for me at the moment. I see no reason for me to change. The RHT is also good, but i'm broke!

Nice review, I also notice the Srixon towel you stole from me has made a guest appearance!!

Are you likely to order a 3 iron later then?

That towel is from stock!

I may well get a 3 iron, but will see how my hybrid goes.
