+1 Though I know of clubs that do penalise you for a no show. Surrey National I think bar you from the next comp or two. At ours they just get cheesed off. If it's a club that does penalise for a no show, I'm sure they would see right through this charade and penalise him anyway.I mean WTF? If you've come all the way to the club, play FFS.

Stu - surely there is a defined time for the competition - he had his name on the sheet and then decided he couldn't play because of injury - took a card and signed it and proceeded to borrow a club and hit a ball - as far as I'm concerned he was participating in the comp - be interested to see if he paid the entrance fee.

The OP gives the impression the injury was beforehand.I don't see any reason to DQ the player who is competing. He has his own clubs and isn't using any other competitors equipment.What rule are we suggesting has been broken, precisely?
