Unfortunately when I hit my usual 1 in 50 drives approx 200 yards right of my target it's all my own fault :)

There is huge value to being able to hit a few putts....
- more chance to find some feel in your stroke
- better idea of why you missed your putt (misread or bad stroke)
- closure over a bad putt
- positive reinforcement that you're stroke is good
- better feel for the greens (providing they are all similar in pace)
- relaxes you for your next putt

I can think of many more reasons, but I'll not bore you :)

Not if you miss them there isn't ...

I would disagree, more info out of a missed putt than a holed one.

Dont need to hole a putt to get a feel for my stroke or the greens either :)

This is an interesting one. I lost my feel for the speed last week for a couple of holes and I'm sure a few putts to the fringe would have sorted it. I didn't even think to practice.
