Should I have been cut?
« on: Aug 13, 2011, 19:07:51 »
Played in the medal today and shot 90 handicap is 21 par is 70 and SSS is 69 so shot my handiacap for the 2nd consecutive medal.

However on the 10th par 5 I got a 9 (drive oob) as I get a shot on this hole for handicap purposes should this have counted as a 8? Therefore would be a 68 and a cut as did not get one?

Bloody anoying the 10th as was 5 over gross at the turn :suicide:

Don't quote me, but I think your 9 will have been marked as a 7 for h'cap purposes.

If he gets a stroke it will be counted as an 8, nett double bogey.

Like Ant says, if you didn't get a cut can only assume CSS was 68.

Just checked and CSS was 69 so that's why I'm wondering no cut?

Handicap is 21.4 so a 0.3 cut would help me down.

Depends what the hole's si was maybe if it was 1, 2 or 3 then you would've got 2 shots at that hole and a net double bogey.

it's SI 5 so only get one shot. Will enquire with the handicap secretary as to what went on.

Cheers for your answers guys

Almost exact same situation here, can any of you guys confirm that I am definately right here and not just being really stupid and missing something blatantly obvious.

Shot 78 (nett 73) in a medal, with an 8 at the 6th which is a par 4, SI 11. No shot at this hole so the 8 would go down to a 6 for handicap so nett 71 for handicap purposes. CSS went up to 70 for this medal, so my 71 (1 shot buffer for category 1 if i'm not mistaken) would have had me buffering, yet i've still been given a .1  :suicide:

Is this just a mistake by the match secretary in not noticing my Clause 19 or am I making a mistake?

unless that is a recent change that is not correct.  Cat 1 are treated the same

Our results sheet have a column "SPA" which I assume is "Stableford Points Adjustment" or something, which is basically your actual nett score minus any adjustments for nett double bogey, so you can easily compare that to CSS.

Do you have anything similar?
