Situated just outside Scarborough it may be a trek for some of you to get to.
At £73 a day in the summer it may be extravangent.
Standing in the pot bunkers you may wonder why you bothered.
But....believe me it is worth it! Although it is expensive the welcome you first receive is very friendly. The clubhouse/changing rooms are very old worldy and their does seem to be a certain air about the place, but everyone associated with the club is very friendly.
The pro shop is well stocked.
The practice greens are large and are a good representation of the course.
The practice area is off grass and great for warming up on.
Now the course. Not overly long by todays standards, 6753 off the whites or 6470 off the yellows. It is very well designed with enormous bunkers - average apparently is 6 feet deep. Good selection of holes and you need to have good course management. It is also very picturesque.
Very well maintained and was in immaculate condition when we played in May 2007.
Like most courses, if you keep it on the short stuff you will be okay but hit is off the fairway and you could be in a world of pain.
Would I play there again, most definitely.
I would give it a 9/10.
