Multi Compound Golf Grips.
« on: Jan 01, 2012, 13:45:56 »
Has anybody had any experience of the Multi Compound Grips sold on the Bay of Thieves purporting to be Golf Pride.
I`m assuming because of the pricing disparity ranging from £9 to £3 that the cheap ones are counterfeit.
However, what sort of quality are they?

Never tried any of the ones that you're talking about, but I've recently re-gripped my  irons with Sharpro grips from Gamola golf that cost a fraction of the price of their Golf Pride equivalents, and to my uneducated eyes and hands seem to be almost exactly the same.

Not sure what alternative GripMyShaft might be able to offer?

Om has both genuine and fake of the same grip. The compound on the fakes has gone very slick

Thanks, that is the sort of experience I was looking for, since I`m only after a couple I will get the `real` ones from someone like Gamola.

I use sharpro and I can't fault them. I don't think there are any longevity issues in terms of performance against golf pride ones either
Bag contains:

a few baws (yelly yins)
loads of broken tees
1 half drunk bottle of flat juice.

Used sharpos multicompounds before and would reccomend them, got mine from gamola as well at a fraction of the cost of the equivalent golf prides.

Given the amount of forgeries around these days it is false economy to buy off e-bay.  Of course, a clever seller of dodgy goods would sell them at the same price as the real things and so make people less suspicious.
Better to buy grips from a recognised seller than to take a chance on dodgy kit.

I've had both the GP and Sharpro's and didn't find any difference is use between the 2. That said, I found both lost their tackiness far too quickly for my liking as I don't wear a glove.
I'd save the money and go for the Sharpro's

Just to add the GPs dont last that long before they go shiny and you're left reaching for the sandpaper

I supply these and would agree that they don't last as well as other grips.

However while optimum they are very good so most people who use them just replace them half way thru the season.

I've a few alternatives like Iguana grips but I'll update you on this in the next few days.

Got quite a few new products to update the site with this week.

Happy new year everyone

I've moved over to Lamkin Performance Plus cord and find them to be a good grip.  The cord isn't too aggressive that it hurts the hands whilst still giving enough grip in wet conditions.

I just put on of these on a driver. REALLY impressed with it. Also put some performance plus on some irons and they seem very good too. Gamola have some very good deals on right now for lamkin grips.
