Situated just north of Lytham in St Annes on Sea.Not a long course being 6684 yards off the whites and 6428 yards off the yellows. All the staff we met and members seemed very friendly. Clubhouse has an old world charm about it, food is very good value as are the winter offers!Typical Links course which is protected mainly by the wind and numerous pot bunkers. Very few blind shots so most of the time you can see were you are shooting for. The fairways were in very good condition for the time of year (March) and the greens were excellent - typical links flat but very true and quite quick. Tees were looking a little worn but that is to be expected and will probably be back to their best by the summer.Straying off the fairways was not too punishing but again, in the summer when the grass grows it would probably be a different proposition.Quite an up and down course with one hole upwind and the next downwind! Bunkering around the par 3's is brutal!Rating 7.5/10
I don't know if any of the rest of you feel like me, it's like being a kid again waiting for Christmas, I really can't wait.
Scratch Team must be good - they won everything last year apparently!
