Windermere

Situated just outside Windermere.

Clubhouse is very friendly with views of the course. Pro shop is very large and again friendly. All the members we met appeared very friendly!

Practice green and driving nets.

Course is 5143 yards off the whites and 4906 off the yellows.

Heathland course in the lake District and at £50 is on the expensive side but they do take 2Fore1 vouchers and afor that price it is well worth playing. Don't let the shortness of this course fool you as it plays longer than it is on the card with severe changes in elevation and many raised greens. 6 par 3s, 4 of which are around or over 200 yards and 1 par 5.
A great variety of holes and a lot of blind shots. Not an easy course to play on your first visit as there are a number of "quirks", including blind tee shots with rocks in the middle of the fairways which can send a seemingly well struck shot any direction and a green that is protected by water with a wooden frontage to send any short shot cannoning into the pond. Into the heather or into the ferns and you will be dropping another ball.
A fantastic course with some stunning views.
One more thing, if you are not a good bunker player then this is the course for you. There is not a singel bunker on the course - i am guessing this would have made it too tough!
