Of course. But my position is more positive and would lead to better enjoyment of the game for all.
See I feel differently. I would get enjoyment out of knowing that I have played the best I can for that day. Leaving shots on the course would mean that I have not done that and that would annoy me. I can only think that looking for a lost ball that has a chance of being playable would only occur once maybe twice a round which is an extra 10 minutes on the round.
First off you are assuming that there is a shot lost, secondly you're ignoring the positive aspects, thirdly you're ignoring the negative impact of hunting around/playing out of the crap, fourthly you're assuming finding a ball in the crap means you're better off, fifthly you're thinking only of yourself and not the whole field, and so on through everything else I've pointed out. I don't see how that counters my position at all...But you're entitled to your opinion.
