Miura Wedges
« on: Nov 20, 2007, 16:37:16 »
I recently shafted up my miura wedges 52 & 58 with black gold s300 shafts (matching my CB201 irons)

Basic wedge specs:

Loft 50 52 54 56 58 60
Lie 63.563.563.563.563.563.5
Bounce 5 68987
(full details from Miura Website )

First thing everyone has commented on when they see them, and i agree, is that they look lovely.

In terms of performance, i find they sit behind the ball lovely and inspire confidence which is key with wedges. One of my goals for next year is to improving my stats on getting down in 2 from wedge distance. So far the Challenge Series at World of Golf these haven't let me down.

In term of spin, i have only had the chance to use at the range, but they are definitely putting more stop, and backspin on the ball on full shots than my Mizuno MP-T's, which i thought were really good until i hit the Miura's.

Also what i like is the feel on the full shots but also importantly, the touch shots. Admittedly the shaft plays a big factor in the feel, but the sound of the ball off the face and the sensation through my hands are both very pleasant. Definitely something i can get used to.

They aren't cheap, but with the relatively low bounce of even the 56, i may switch to a 3 wedge set up if i continue to enjoy these.
