Acorns in Bunkers
« on: Oct 20, 2008, 10:09:05 »
Our course: Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions Rule 24-1

My ball is sitting on a bed of acorns + their shells in a bunker.

I didn't try to move them away from the ball fearing I'd move the ball and get penalised...

Are they moveable obstructions - ie mark ball and remove them and replace  or play it as is?

I'm not sure thinking about it and I'd have probably done the same as you, but I'm thinking play as it lies

Play it as it lies.

But aim for the damn squirrel that left them there!

It's a hazard so I'd guess you're out of luck.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean you don't have enemies

You wouldn't be able to move stones in this case either, as they are propping up the ball.

Take more sand! ;)  ...If there was any... :chuckle:

Loose impediment in a bunker/hazard...so i yeh out of luck.

You could ask the club to make a local rule ? as some do with stones.

You cannot make this local rule.

We had a local rule for Pine cones in a bunker but had to remove it a few years ago as it was not an allowable local rule
