Weight Gain 4000
« on: Jan 23, 2010, 10:13:40 »
So I lost a lot of weight last winter, bought new clothes that fit, but gradually over the summer autumn, I've put it all back on bar a couple of pounds.  And I'd thought getting a job was a good thing ;)

Time to cut out the cakes and pies, methinks.

I'm 80kg, and plan to get back down to 73/74, which is still a way of ideal weight for my height, but f**k that. I don't want to be a skinny weed anyway.

So the diet is:
Porridge for brekky
Soup for lunch
Whatever but not a huge portion in the evening
Plenty of coffee/water everytime I feel hungry

Exercise per week is:
1x 30 min run, 30 min bike, 30 min swim (nearly killed me last night)
1x 30 min swim
2x 1hr range

Any other lard arses want to log their progress here?

Me and two other blokes at work are in a race to lose 10% of their weight. For me this means losing 9kg to get myslef down to 81kg.....like you this is still some way short of my ideal weight and will leave a tad excess bulk around my waist/arse....but as I tell the wife....you dont knock a 9 inch inch nail into the wall with a tack hammer. :chuckle:

First one to reach the target on the deadly accurate company scales in the medaical department wins £50 worth of lottery tickets from each of the other two.

If none of us make it by 31st March then well all donate £50 to charity.

Lost 1kg in my first week....so currently 89kg...virtually dead on 14st (which is still 3 or 4 ilb lighter than this time last year).

I'm planning on getting food poisoning....that usually knocks a stone off in pretty short time!!!

Seriously....I need to cut out the midweek booze, maybe eat something for breakfast to stimulate the metabolism, go for soup or a salad and a jacket potato instead of a fry up when the rest of the canteen menu is shite and cut out the choccy bars/bags of fruit pastilles that constantly accompany me in the car.

Gonna restart the running as well....4 miles at least twice, possibly 3 times a week.

Day 1
Things aren't going quite as well as we'd planned

Breakfast: porridge
Lunch: 'All you can eat' Brazilian Rodizio, beef, lamb, chicken, rice, fejoada, rice, mayonaise, potatoes, banana fritata, sausage, more beef...and a glass of Guarana.

Errmmm....

First time I heard of this kind of thing was quite a few years ago, four friends put in fifty each with a similar target.  Then more staff joined, making the pot £1000.  This made weight loss a serious profit making exercise!

Good luck, and steer clear of Rico's Rodizio ;)

I lost a stone last year up to dec but what with the onset of crap weather the incentive to go to the gym is low and as I am pretty bored at my desk I tend to graze...!!!

Trying to think of some variation to boring cross trainer and pilates classes...

I'm just about in the middle of my get fit/lose weight regime.
Want to lose 5st 8lbs of which I'm 2st 12lbs into. Good but not a silly diet, ie one I can live with now and after I'm at target.
Gym/running/exercise bike 3 X 1.5hrs session per week plus a 45 min cycle-fit class per week and swimming twice a week, as well as 2 rounds of golf per week.

I've been on the weight loss trail since late last summer. Started off when I got to a worrying 18st9lbs  :scared: must have been a case of ignorance is bliss, giving up smoking didn't help either.

Been eating sensibly since then, and trying to eat earlier in the day, and make sure I have something for breakfast everyday, and before Christmas got it down to 16st0

Put on about 8lbs over the holidays, which was not helped by work placing me in the offices for a while - vending machines and canteen = severe snacking

Anyway, back on it now, lost the 8lbs again since new year (no booze since 1st Jan), and back out on site from Monday, so that should help. Not got a target weight in mind but another 2st would be fantastic.
