As IJM says above, it makes sense that it could cause problems.  Actually, I stopped doing some time ago.

I'm not sure why the question is directed specifically at me.

I personally dont put my wallet in my back pocket but I can imagine that as LJM says it might be a potential issue. Ditto loose change, old wine bottle corks etc etc.

Actually if i have a long drive i remove my wallet, as i have found that i am in some pain afterwards if i leave it there.

An important thing when driving is to try and get your knees lower than your hips, this will allow the sciatic nerve to clear the hips easier.
If you have a height adjustable seat jack it up and give it a whirl

Yes - that's the advice I had.  It was difficult as , being fairly tall, I always pushed my knees up somewhat to fit.
