MSG Matchplay?
« on: Nov 20, 2012, 18:57:19 »
Just wondered if there has ever been an MSG matchplay comp, maybe played across a season, home & away legs and a round robin format to guarantee playing a few games/courses, and regionalised to keep travelling distances down?

Yes, been a few, turned out the easiest way to win one was just to never arrange a game.....

Back in the early days we were a much more friendly group.  Down South we had at least 5 events a year, plus the Ryder Cup, a Winter League, a Summer League, a Matchplay competition, and loads of 'bounce' games as well.  The idea was to get out and meet new people and be more social.

Strangely though, once people actually met those of us that remain they tended to not stick around for much longer...    :chuckle:

I've just re-read it as well.  For a few ludicrous minutes I thought that perhaps I'd give it another go in 2013.  After reading that thread, there's no fecking way I'm doing it again  :chuckle:

I wish I'd kept the 2,500 PMs that accompanied it  :picard:
