Best 'street' style shoes?
« on: Dec 07, 2012, 11:10:23 »
Fed up of my tour 360's not lasting long enough so thinking about trying some of the 'street' style shoes... Which ones do people recommend?

Thinking along the lines of the Adidas samba, puma 86 / Roma - that kind of price range too... Anybody care to chime in?

Do they get as much grip as regular golf shoes?

I've got a couple of pairs of Ecco Streets.   Most comfortable golf shoes I've had.  Never had a problem with slipping but then again, I wouldn't wear them in particularly wet conditions although mate of mine has and reckons he's not had a problem.

Heard the Nike version aren't the best in terms of grip but I quite like the all white pair they do.

The Ecco street have excellent grip but leak like a sieve. I hear there is a waterproof version coming out shortly though.

I played last week in a pair of our Del Mar shoes & had no issues in fairly wet conditions.  No slipping & feet stayed nice & dry.  Was very pleasantly surprised as i had expected them to be a little slippery in the wet.

I just wonder whether they will be as comfortable as the original street version?

Looked very good when I saw them. Apparently as comfortable with the more classic styling.

If anyone needs anything ecco I do have an account with them.

Thanks - must confess to being very confused as to whether these have goretex, or not. TG posted a review to say there will be a goretex model that is £20 dearer and I've found a pair called the gtx in the US, but really no clues if all of the tour hybrids are the same, or if some have goretex. The 2013 ecco catalogue is silent on it as well!

Ben

May need you to get me a pair of those ones in the picture.   I've got two pairs of streets which I love but those tan wingtips look the nuts.  Drop me a pm when you get a chance with pricing.   Thanks mate

Tried a pair at the weekend. They are extremely comfortable, BUT do not have the cutaway at the back for the achilles and it was an issue for me on one side. It may well have gone away quickly with the back broken in a little but I didn't want to risk it. A VERY nice looking shoe though

Tried on some Ecco Biom today and they seemed to have a very high and wide arch. Not sure how comfortable that would be for me after 36 holes.
