Multiple free drops.

Can you take multiple free drops?
Say your ball is on a molehill, you take a free drop and you're now affected by another molehill can you take another drop?
I did this in a game last week and although nothing was questioned at the time my opponent had a dig in the clubhouse a few days later.

Yes, you can.  This could be for the same reason (like in your example) or for a completely different reason (relief from a staked tree means that you are standing on a cart path).  The only thing that you have to be careful of is that in each case you are using the correct NPR, and that you gain complete relief from the thing that you are originally taking relief from.

Thanks again. What would be the procedure be if a NPR drop from a molehill put you on a path then the NPR drop from the path put you back at the same molehill and so on.

You get one club length from your NPR, so it seems unlikely that after two drops you wouldn't have found a spot which is both away from the path and away from the mole hill.  You may find that you then need relief from a different mole hill, but eventually you should find full relief, or alternatively you may decide to just find your 'best relief' which may still leave you slightly hindered (but not by what you are taking relief from).

If there is an area of the course that could cause such a scenario to occur (such as a large collection of staked trees) then the committee should probably look to declare it GUR so full relief can more easily be taken.

Don't think there's an option for Best Relief. Just NPR so you'd have to keep dropping within one club length until you had full relief.

Don't think there's an option for Best Relief. Just NPR so you'd have to keep dropping within one club length until you had full relief.

By 'best relief' I meant an area that was within a legal drop (full relief based on NPR) but that wasn't necessarily completely unhindered by another (different) obstruction.

So for example, let's say that taking relief from the mole hill area meant that you were standing on a cart path, but taking relief from the cart path would then put you back in the mole hill area.  You could just decide that even though you are now standing on a cart path (from which you are entitled to relief) that is actually going to be the best of a bad set of eventual outcomes and just play it from there.
