Bear in mind that averaging your best 8 out of 20 net differentials will give you a figure related to the course(s) you played them on and is comparable with your present handicap.  In the future,  your Handicap Index will be the average of the best 8 out of 20 Score Differentials which are  your adjusted gross differential adjusted by the Slope Rating of the course you played so that it is the number of strokes you would get for a course of average slope (represented by the figure113).  To take account of slope you need to "de-slope" your adjusted gross differential:

Score Differential = 113/Slope Rating x  Adjusted Gross Differential
