Iron Choice - thinner topline
« on: Mar 16, 2017, 11:59:05 »
I've been searching for a wee while looking for a new set of irons.

Ive flipped and flopped a fair bit recently and have been playing the Callaway Apex CF16 - nice however they are chunky and it isn't something I can seem to get used to.

I have tried the Apex Pro and can hit them fine struggle slightly in the 4 iron however I have also seen the JPX 900 tour and the Srixon z765 and the 716AP2 are like an old bird that you cant stop thinking about.

Ive had a hit with the Mizuno and like them, I have previous of the Srixon in that I hit the z545 model however again felt it was to chunky in the low irons but never hit the z765 range. AP2 I have hit a few times

Anyone hit the Mizunos or the Srixons? I'm booked into a fitting day at a nearby golf club for the Srixons and was kind of thinking that route until I hit the JPX this morning.

Is there a huge difference between these two and the 716 AP2?
Bag contains:

Nice one G, thought you were hankering after the MP4's - or have they now been discontinued? (There was some talk about that last year when I got mine)

Bonjourno !!   Aye it seems they have run down production of the 4's Scotty - the 5's are if anything, a touch more forgiving ( not that this was ever a factor ) simply because they have marginally bigger heads....oo-err ! Very nice, and classic Mizuno in appearance......the Worm has turned....

The refer to the old bird analogy I've also got a set of brand new MP5's that have sat with their shipping covers still on since December. I'm afraid to take them out because they are so stunning I'm afraid I'll come in my pants.
