A mate of mine was just told by someone who should know that it's Poulter, Stenson, Garcia and Casey

Garcia and Casey dodgy if you ask me Wallace is white hot at the moment...even if he seems to have had a chequered past...rather pick Rafa Cabrera Bello than Casey...

It may have been leaked, I've heard the same.

If true, that's an absolute cop out and leverages Wallace's win to justify not picking Rafa, Knox or Pieters. Effectively gives them the message that their form was never going to get any of them in.

Which leads me to suggest what is the point in having increased the picks to 4 to accommodate form if you're not going to pick form players!?

I'd take Casey ahead of Garcia. If you are going to take a punt on someone to be inspired by the Ryder Cup I'd take Pieters and put him with Rory. A lot of the Queenwood caddies rate Pieters as the most talented there, which isn't a bad accolade.

Also heard a lot of senior tour officials think Bjorn will be a terrible captain as it does not play to his personal attributes - it's basically a reward for service (just like his picks) and NOT best man for the job

...I just returned from a trip to Ireland where I played courses both in the republic and NI including Portrush, we as a group played 10 courses and everyone in the 10 man group when they asked anyone about Darren Clark not one good word was said about him....and he will probably be in the queue for RC capt fairly soon

Have only heard bad things about Clarke, especially during the lead-up to his wife's death and immediately after it.

Plenty of rumours around Wallace in the past.

Sergio's not been quite as bad as people think this year and normally plays well in the Ryder Cup.  I suspect Casey, Poulter, Stenson and Sergio will get the nod due to the relative lack of experience in the Euro team.

What has Wallace supposedly done? I've not seen any bad press about him, and the interviews I've seen he's come across well and quite funny?

Rubber on the end of his pencil used to get a fair workout!....

Having played against or around him a few times, I just think he was so unpopular he'll not be a great team man.... Could be wrong and will see in 5mins or so...
