LIV Golf

Anyone going or intending to watch (via You Tube) this event later in the week?

We are there this Thursday and very interested to see how this plays out. Irrespective of your own views of the Saudi regime this week is a potential game changer for the men's pro golf arena.

Seems that many more PGA folks are joining - just today (in addition to DJ and Phil) I am hearing Bryson, Fat Cheat Reed, Ricky, Kuchar, Homa plus a good few more - guess PGA Tour would need to reconsider life bans if that turns out to be the case

Can't ban them if they aren't members though - not sure how them resigning will affect them with the PGA, will be interesting to see the fallout

PGA Tour has weighed in now Tony.

This is going to get really nasty (and legal) now!

With the contract values on offer why wouldn’t they jump ship?
Doubt many would earn that in a lifetime on the pga but then for most it’s actually doubling what they have already earnt. If we had offers like that in work (basically career earning in one lump sum and then still get paid after) we’d be doing the same.

Be interesting to see how the legal side goes but can’t see it ending well for the PGA.

Does seem like clear restriction of trade

If it all goes legal, it'll come down to who has the deepest pockets. Which is when the PGA Tour are stuffed......I suspect that Keith Pelley/The DP World Tour know this which is why they are are keeping quiet (for now...)

Enjoyed what I watched yesterday. Love that it's free and really applaud the things they are trying.  Shotgun start is perfect.

at a much smaller scale the same thing is happening in the P.G.A Club Pros Golf events. The P.G.A are actively fining any P.G.A member playing in non P.G.A affiliated events (clutch, jamega,tp tour) if the satellite tour event clashes with a P.G.A event they have chosen not to play in.

You could finish last but win the team……….

Watched about 20mins today. Nice to know everyone is playing at same time but with hole gaps the coverage seems to be rushing through things as people get to their ball and can play. Saying that they still take footing ages from that to when they actually hit it.

Blandy was well down the field as an individual but his team did well - and he made about $600k in the process
