I love the sand belt but it's not good for keeping up trousers in the rain...

He's been heavily rumoured for a few weeks now. Would be a real slap in the face to the DP Tour/Ryder Cup if he does go and they feel compelled to take away the captaincy as a result.

Who would get the gig in his place I wonder? A number of prior leading contenders for European RC Captain have already gone to LIV - Poulter/Westwood/McDowell/Garcia etc

If they get loads more players can they keep the same format?  Can you still do shotgun starts and no cuts etc if you've got more players than holes available to accommodate them?  Surely the whole prize money structure and sign on deals starts to change too.

I think there’s 48 in the mix? I read somewhere that some of the players had been dropped so they’ve shafted themselves if that’s the case

The Telegraph have reported overnight that Stenson has gone to LIV and is stripped of the 2023 RC captaincy.
